Can I sue the hospital if I was injured during child birth?

I was pregnant and was induced September 22, but I did not have my baby till September 27. Throughout that time, besides being treated very bad from the nursing staff, I started having pain in my left wrist due to the IV that was leaking inside my skin. Shortly after I had my baby, I started to feel numbness in both hands and excruciating pain. I went to my doctor and he diagnosed me with carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis in both hands. I have lost significant amount of strength on both hands and experience numbness often. Can I sue the hospital?
